One year ago today , this merry band of misfits we call Indiana Openwheel lost our leader , Bill Gardner. He was a blessing for open wheel racing in Indiana, and the rest of the country. He could give you a pat on the back, or a swat on the wrist, whichever was needed. Damn I miss this guy. This one is for you Bill.

Thanks, Chris! This picture was framed and is now proudly displayed in the very room that IOW was created. I wish you all could have seen the huge smile on his face the day the Spikers delivered it to his hospital room. Makes me smile just thinking about it!

Never got to meet Bill. Still, didn't take long to see his passion even from afar. Blessings to his friends, family, & especially Mrs G. I hope a day as challenging as this can be smiled upon knowing how many people he's genuinely touched, both near and far.

Sad day in the Spencer Racing 66j camp, Bill had more of a following than I think he wanted to admit too. Love and miss you

This terrible disease put Bill through so much. But if you talked to Bill enough, you heard him make the statement "Cancer is both the worst thing and the best thing that ever happened to me." This is one of the most profound things I've ever heard anybody say. He was talking about how it made him appreciate so many things about life, that he may have not, had he not been put through this. I hope we all learned this lesson from seeing him fight his battle.

I miss my golf cart rides and just talking with Bill. I hope I can fight the fight just half as long as he did

I took this on the first night of the Bill Gardner Sprintacular. There's a lot of people that he touched in some way in this photo.
