STOCKON TOPS AT SANTA MARIA; BERNAL CALIFORNIA MIDGET WEEK KING

Santa Maria, CA……..Chase Stockon of Elizabethtown, Ind. won Saturday night’s 30-lap Honda USAC Western Midget race at Santa Maria Raceway but Ryan Bernal won the California Sprint Week title with his second-place finish. Stockon passed Cody Swanson on lap 25 and led the final six laps in his Jerome Rodela entry to beat Bernal, Ronnie Gardner, Randi Pankratz and Cody Williams. Bernal also won the California Sprint Week crown, winning the night’s 30-lap Sprint feature.

Not sure how it has worked out for Chase to be out west? They just moved from E-Town to the Evansville area (his wife got a new job with Toyota) - but Chase has had a pretty good few weeks in California - glad to see him get a win for Rodela, who brought the #25 car to the Midwest for Chase to drive in Indiana Midget Week this year.
