I thought the crowd was pretty good - much better than the last time I was there, six years ago.

This was an excellent race, but the car count was horrible.

One other idea. The announcer should get a clue. I find it ironic. As the machine that pulls out of the pits on it's qualifying attempt, the fans in the stands can hear the P.A system (as the car is south of the main grandstand) while we can here this would be a great time to say, "out on the track #07 Jacob Wilson" but what we get is "now fans, taking to the track in the Jet Star Wilson Brothers towing Klaxton Toytota out of Crawfordsville Indiana, the driver has recorded some of his best career finishes here at O.R.P..........." and at about that time here comes a loud as hell Silver Crown Car and drowns out the drivers name.

It is freakin' pathetic and has been going on this way for far to long. Save the antidotes, the favorite foods, the donations, Let the fans know the number and name of the driver before it gets LOUD

Jesus

It's not like you have too many fans.

The crowd was pathetic

This is so parallel to what we are discussing in "Thoughts on Creating New Fans" thread. Announcing - Your misery is our misery, Hubie.

At all too many tracks, either the sound system or the announcer (or both) are woefully inadequate. I agree that this is one of the things which needs to be included in any discussion of attracting new fans, or even keeping old ones happy. If I thought that a thread on what a good announcer should do would remain positive and not degenerate into a ***** session about what we don't like, I would start one with some lead-off suggestions. What do you think, can we do that?
