It's a sprint car race in Indiana on a dirt track that will undoubtedly draw a huge crowd. Not much else to say.

I can't remember when it was and it may have been the last time the had a wing race. I rode from cincy to see NST (I think). And I can't remember if it had been really wet leading up to the race (I don't think so). The track was so wet they couldn't get it run in. Seems I stuck around till 8-9 while they tried to get the track ready and I left. I hope this attempt fairs better.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the World of Outlaws have only been to Putnamville once before and that was way back in 1979. I’m assuming it was a non-wing show:

6/27/1979 WOO Winner: Steve Kinser

Winged sprint car races at Putnamville have been few and far between over the last 35 years. This is by no means a complete list…

9/26/2006 NST Winner: Tim Kaeding
6/22/2002 GLOSS Winner: Todd Kelley
8/27/1994 ASCOC Winner: Kevin Briscoe
7/30/1994 ASCOC Winner: Joey Saldana
8/27/1993 ASCOC Winner: Joey Saldana
7/31/1993 ASCOC Winner: Kelly Kinser
8/22/1992 ASCOC Winner: Joey Saldana
7/26/1989 Indiana Sprint Week (Wing/Non-sanctioned) Winner: Danny Smith
8/6/1988 Indiana Sprint Week (Wing/Non-sanctioned) Winner: Tim Gee
9/11/1988 ASCOC Winner: Jack Hewitt
7/3/1981 ASCOC Winner: Ricky Hood
5/30/1980 ASCOC Winner: Alan Barr (not sure if this was wing or nonwing)

I remember a Sunday afternoon show too. I was thinking it was that GLOSS race in '02 but the date matches to a Saturday. The Sun. afternoon show must've been '00 or '01. I didn't go. I remember flying from St Louis to NY that day. My plane followed I-70 for part of the trip. From the air I could see Putnamville. Even from a few thousand feet, I could see the dust billowing.

WoO ran at Putnamville around the late 80s and again in the early 90s too.too I believe. Looking forward to the return! Let's see what that all time track record can drop to! I will say 10.6- 11.3 Range.
