Hello Friends here at IOW. Obviously it has been a very difficult couple of days for us. Most of you already know that Coleman's crash was pretty severe as are his injuries. Not "Contact" injuries but "G Force" Injuries as described to us by the Medical Team. His flip was so traumatic that his face is still full of Hemorrhaged Blood as are his eyes. He still cannot see anything that is further than 6 inches from his face. His eyes are swelled shut right now which is a good thing.

The Team at Kansas University Medical Center were absolutely first rate. Specialists were brought in all during the night Friday from their supposed weekend rest to attend to Coleman. All of them were so supportive and compassionate and tended to their jobs immediately and with the compassion as if Coleman were their own. EVERY member of their staff were terrific, right down to housekeeping.

The attending Emergency Crew at the Track did a great job with Coleman on scene and transporting him to the Hospital. I haven't went that fast in a vehicle since I raced. They went out of their way to bring Coleman's mother to the Hospital as well since there was no room left in the Ambulance.

God, Friends and Family, our IOW Family included, have helped us get through the last couple of days. The Pain I am feeling as his Father is almost overwhelming. Although this is a pretty private matter, I will share with you something that happened seconds after the crash. When I got to the car and Coleman was not moving, I bent in to look in his shield to find a very scared young man. He said gently to me with tears coming down his already swollen face, "Daddy, I can't See". Those words are still ringing in my head. I am thankful to God that he was able to talk to me and we are so blessed that we are not in worse shape than we are at this time. But the feeling from that moment is very surreal.

There is no blame here. None. It is unfortunate in every aspect. Bobby's steering arm had broke and he was almost helpless in that car. Coleman was unaware obviously when he went under him. It is what it is and Robert feels as bad as anyone. He too was sent flying. I looked up at one point and Bobby was standing over us looking in on Coleman. Neither of us said anything but I could tell he felt pretty bad.

Tests and more tests this week. The Diagnosis is good so far but we will be visiting Indy's finest Specialists. There is no other place we would rather have him being looked after than right here in Indiana.

We will keep you posted. There is no time frame right now for Coleman and quite frankly, we don't care about Racing again until Coleman wants to and is cleared.

Pete, our prayers are with your family and Coleman. They way you described his injuries sounds almost word for word like the ones I suffered at Putnamville in 1993. It is a very scary time when you can't see anything, can't even open your eyes because they are swollen shut, and sound what he said sounds like what I said att hat time too. I am praying that his eyes will be 100%, it will take several weeks for all the swelling to glo away and for the eyes to have white again, but rest assured they will. We will be keeping you in the Ruble families prayers.

Thanks SO much for the update. We have been praying for Coleman and you the family as well. It is a VERY scary time when a racecar driver gets injured. I know first hand. Just know that God cares so much about all of you and that he will be holding you in the palm of his hand in the days and weeks ahead as you heal both physically and emotionally. Don't even give racing a thought, just focus on healing and being yourselves again and then if racing calls again and Colemen really wants to, GO FOR IT!!! Keep us posted.

Pete your family is in my prayers. Get ahold of Tim Clauson, he has been thru the same emotions you are feeling, more than once. I'm sure he would be glad to give you some perspective on what you are feeling right now.

Thank you for the updates. We are really glad to hear that Coleman had the best treatment that there was. Please keep up posted on Coleman's condition. We know how Coleman feels. We were fortunately with JJ flip a few weeks ago at Lawrenceburg did not hurt his body, besides being a little sore. We all know the race car can always be replaced, but he a can not be. Come back when he knows he's ready!
