Most of us have been focusing on the three former open wheelers who started at the front and another comes from the back to win it. Way to go Ricky!!!! Be sure to get to your local track later this year. You never know where you will see someone you see there this year a few years down the road.

And two out of the three podium positions are Spring/Midget guys. And three out of the first five, with Alex Bowman taking fifth.

First saw Ricky at Lincoln, IL in 2006. I had heard/read about him before, but that day he was the show! (I had ran out of the little talent I had trying to run up top with the big boys in the heat that day, flipping/destroying my dad's old Challenger coil car over the turn, while veteran Steve Knepper had got out of shape on the bottom and did an equally impressive tumble down low. I got real close to working a deal to start & park Ricky's backup car in the B. I think it was Ricky's dad who I was talking with. Never knew for sure).
Also, always remember seeing Ricky taking the TSR car for a ride at Dodge Co Fairgrounds (WI); throwing the steering wheel out as it landed, jumping up and flipping the car back up on four wheels before the dust settled!

First and only time I actually met him was at Twin Cities spring race, not sure if it was the no way out yet or what. But he was driving for walker.
Remember one usac race at GC where he totaled three cars. Two of stewarts and then used a USAC/CRA car number to take a provisional.

I saw him win at DuQuoin indoor show in 2015. One of the best races I’ve seen.

First race I saw Ricky run was at Crossville, TN when he was 15. Very impressive run that night. Also remember when he ran the Copper on Dirt at Manzanita in '07 and won 2 of the 3 races.

First saw Ricky run at Eldora at the 4 Crown. Can’t remember if it was 2005 or 06. Impressive when he qualified 4th in sprint cars( in his dad’s car I believe, a red # 40 if memory is correct) and put it right up on the wall. First time he was ever there, I think he was 18 then.
