The past few seasons there have been no races during Indiana Sprint Week and a few guys came out but this year they scheduled a race (July 25) right in the middle of it.

Good point Ry. I was hoping they would award show up points for the Corn Belt Nationals to try to grow it into what the wingless community needs, but once again hopes are dashed

While I’d like to see some West Coast guys make the trip to the Corn Belt Nationals, and then continue on to ISW, travel costs have just gotten so prohibitive it isn’t likely. Also, and I’m sure some will disagree with this, but the Midwestern guys (not just the USAC guys, but the WAR guys too) race so much more frequently and on so many different surfaces than the West Coast guys, I think they have a tremendous advantage. Look at the results for the last several years at Perris Nationals and the Western Worlds: The USAC National teams have been pretty dominant. Just my thoughts.

Well at least they’re not scheduled against it, so that at least opens the door. It’s funny about travel costs, seems 10 years ago diesel was 4.50 a gallon now it’s a little over 3. I understand people like to stay in hotels and such but back when we were racing, we would sleep in the truck if we had to. And I love when folks count food as an expense when traveling. I wish I only ate when traveling
