As a fan... that was one of the best sprint car features I've seen in a long time.

At one point I thought Shuman was gonna win... then Cummins... then here comes Brady around the outside. Shuman and Short each threw great slidejobs in 3 and 4 several laps in a row. The final lap.... Shuman leading entering Turn 3 on the top... Short under for a slidejob. Some contact between Short and Shuman... Cummins rolling the bottom. Photo finish for the win between Short and Cummins with Casey not far behind.

Thanks guys!! You delivered an awesome race tonight!!! IMO... All three of you deserved 1st place money for that show!

This is why I go to the races. Every now and then you just experience one of those special races that stands out from all the rest. The kind that just draws you in and for those precious few moments, becomes your entire world. Tonight, a UFO could have landed in the infield of Lincoln Park Speedway during the sprint A Main and nobody would have even noticed. This race was that compelling.

At first, Casey Shuman seized control and was on the point for the first part of the race, getting great bite and holding the low line. But soon, all could tell that his lead would be in jeopardy, because Kyle Cummins and Brady Short were just screaming around the top of the track. Cummins took the lead and surprisingly, Short started to fade. Kyle looked to be the man to beat and was pulling away and the track got progressively faster. As the restart was getting ready to happen, following the first yellow, you had to wonder if anybody had anything for Kyle. But just that fast, as the green waved, Brady had found something and rocketed around both to claim the lead. Shuman then followed, but the 36 car was starting to check out of the field. But, just when you thought you had this one figured out, Casey was grinding it out in typical Casy Shuman fashion and little by little was chipping away at Brady's lead. As the next yellow flew, he had reeled him in. On the next restart, Brady jumped out to the early lead and Casey started to turn the momentum again. But this time, he shifted his game plan. The bottom in 3 and 4 weren't working for him as well as they had earlier in the race so he joined Brady on the top shelf on that end of the track, but continued to dive for the tires in 1 and 2, since he was getting tremendous bite there. Then the yellow flew for the final time, with 8 laps left, setting the stage for final dash to the finish. If Brady got the kind of jump that he had in the two previous restarts, it could be too little, too late for Shuman though, as the race was winding down. As the green was displayed it was obvious that Shuman wasn't going to let that happen and he was closely tailing Brady as they came out of two. At that point, everybody there collectively knew that "It's now on!" and those two just went at it tooth and nail, for the rest of this race. Casey gaining advantage slingshotting off the bottom in turn two and Brady swinging things back in his favor by winning the slide job fest in turns three and four. All the way down to the wire. To the last turn of the last lap. When Brady made contact with Casey coming off of turn 4, something happened that absolutely nobody in the house saw coming. Kyle Cummins saw daylight and beat them both back to the line!!! But, it was so close that nobody knew who had won until Brad announced that Kyle had gotten to the line first. The crowd was just stunned and everybody was just standing around, looking at one another with that expression that can only say "wow!" And when they interviewed Cummins in victory lane afterwards, you could tell that he was still in disbelief of what had just happened, him self.

You had to feel bad for Casey Shuman. IMO, his absolute refusal to give up or give in was the main calayst in making this race one that people will be talking about for a long time. And he ended up third.

What a race! That's all I can say.

One of the best I have ever seen, instant classic is right. Hard nosed racing from start to finish.

Really? Brady made contact with Casey in 4? I saw Casey run into the back of Brady after a slidejob. "got to feel bad for Casey" why, so no need to feel bad for Brady? They both drove their butts off...

Great race! All three, Kyle, Brady, Casey did a great job!

Track was very racy! Good job LPS!!!
