Deepest Sympathies to the Montgomery Family
The MTQRL wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the Montgomery family on the September 15th passing of Robert Herbert “Bud” Montgomery, 79 of Seymour, Ind. If you were around open wheel racing in Indiana in the late 1970’s and 1980’s you probably saw Bud and his familiar #24 racing both full-size and three-quarter midgets. Bud passed his love of racing along to his son Tim, who is the current Lawrenceburg Speedway (and occasional MTQRL) flagman. In addition to his sons Tim and Todd, Bud is survived by daughters Barb and Debra, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at the Voss & Sons Funeral Service, Seymour, Ind. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and from 9:00 am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. |

I met Bud at the speedrome in the 80s. Always smiling and eager to share a laugh with everyone. Bud raced and went to many races as a spectator. Bud will certainly be missed…RIP Bud Montgomery

RIP, Bud, and God Speed, most unassuming guy you'd ever meet, but a lot of you will remember him, on his bicycle at the races, that's how he got most of his exercise, and from one team to another. I know you will miss him, Tim, as I will, but he sure loved his kids, and his wife, and his racing. Bob

Your thoughts and prayers have been greatly appreciated during these difficult times. Thanks to all who were able to come to the service or sent flowers. It really meant a lot to our family. Dad had many friends in the racing community. The last few years he wasn't able to get out much, but I know how much he missed seeing all of you as much as we will miss him. Tim
