“Tempe Tornado” Named Grand Marshall of Hall of Fame Classic at CSP!

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (August 29, 2012) – When the USAC National Sprint Car Series visits the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ, on October 26-27, it will be for the 12th Annual Parker Store Hall of Fame Classic.

So, it’s only fitting that a bona fide Hall of Famer be on hand for the action, as Lealand McSpadden has been named Grand Marshall of the much anticipated event.

McSpadden, “The Tempe Tornado”, became a truly legendary character over the course of his 26-year racing career in Sprint Cars and Midgets. Piling up nearly 200 feature wins along the way, McSpadden was elected into the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1998 and then into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame one year later in 1999.

A three-time Western World champion, a prestigious Sprint Car event contested over the years at Manzanita Speedway that is returning to the Phoenix area to CSP in November, McSpadden also earned prestigious Midget wins at the Chili Bowl Nationals in 1991 and the Belleville Midget Nationals in 1992.

Two-day tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic that are ordered by October 1 will be just $35, a savings of the single day ticket prices of $20 on Friday and $25 on Saturday. Two-day passes after the October 1 advanced ticket deadline will be $40. Platinum Reserved seating is available as well for just an additional $5 per night.

There is an advance discount as well for VIP Suite tickets and All Access passes as well. Detailed ticket information, as well as a Canyon Speedway Park seating chart, is available at http://www.canyonspeedwaypark.com/ti...-fame-classic/.

Tickets may be ordered by calling the track at 602-258-RACE (7223).

Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, IN, swept through both nights of Hall of Fame Classic action last October.
