This Thursday, September 27th, the BOSS non wing sprint cars will run the make-up event of the Kokomo Sprint Car Smackdown at Kokomo Speedway. Track and series officials are hopeful that the third time in the charm. The event has fallen victim to mother nature on August 25th and again on September 9th. On Saturday, only the third ever event for the new BOSS WINGED 410 sprint car series will be held at Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana. Brandon Wimmer won the inaugural event at Atomic Speedway in May defeating a 27 car field. Just 4 weeks ago, the "Fresno Phenom", Gio Scelzi, won the 2nd event at Gas City Speedway after coming from the 14th starting position to defeat a field of 26 entrants.

This event will be a very rare appearance for winged 410 sprints at Montpelier. The facility is more than 100 years old, having first hosted harness horse racing. In the many decades of auto racing, only 4 previous winged 410 events have been held. The previous winners have been Chad Blonde, Kelly Kinser and 2 wins by Kraig Kinser. This special event will pay $3,000 to win and $300 to start. Complete payout is as follows: 3000, 1500, 1000, 700, 600, 550, 500, 475, 450, 425, 400, 380, 360, 340, 320, 300 to start. Any teams making an attempt to compete, but failing to make the main event, will be paid $100 tow money.

With most weekly 410 wing tracks closed for the season, a large field of cars is expected! Due to the cooler evening temperatures and larger field of cars, the event times have been moved up. Gates will open at 1 pm with hot laps at 4 and racing beginning at 5 pm. Adult general admission is $20 with kids 12 and under free with an adult. Pit passes will be $30. No mufflers are required for this event. There will be a $10 transponder rental fee. There are no membership or entry fees for BOSS.

The tire rule for winged events is as follows: All 4 corners must be Hoosier Tires. The left rears MUST be the "H" series national spec tire. The right rears MUST be one of the following: "H" series national spec tire OR Medium OR W18. All wings must be flat top with max 2" wickerbill. Minimum weight with driver after race must be 1,400 pounds. The top 3 feature finishers will be weighed.
