Chandler Motor Speedway will have the Non-Wing Sprint Cars on hand for their last visit of 2017 this Friday night September 1st. Start your long Labor Day weekend off right by checking out the racing at Chandler which has been better with each sprint race this season and saw a side-by-side finish at our last race with Brandon Mattox barely holding off Stephen Schnapf. We will also have the Ohio Valley Lightning Sprints, Scrappers, and our regular classes. Gates open at 5PM, draw closes at 7PM, hot laps at 7:30PM, and racing at 8PM (Central Time). Adult general admission $15, ages 11-17 $10 (with student ID), and kids 10 and under are free. Pit passes are $30. More info at www.chandlerspeedway.com
Our payout is what we can afford without taking a loss. It's very similar to Paragon and Charleston. Trying to build something at Chandler and people who have actually raced at the track and seen the racing have nothing but good things to say. Track surface has been the best it's been in years. We are trying to start something this year that we can grow into something bigger next year. Bashing the purse and saying we won't have any cars is great for the sport we all love to watch.
For a small team looking to go racing payout isn't always high on the list of priorities, hell you aint making no money probley anyhow. What is important is a good promotor who gets you on a good racy track that doesn't tear up cars and engines. Man I wish we had something like that around here, we'd give the speedwaybikes a break and run a sprintcar.
Sorry you take my post as bashing. Was not meant that way. It's simple reality.
Sprint car teams are not likely to want to race at a track where they are expected to take the loss.
For my team, we would like to try out any track that the surface is so good, but the 4+ hour one way drive and weekly up keep costs alone is more than we can afford without taking a loss.
Good luck and I hope my guess is wrong and you can build a great track.
