With the turmoil going on in the SC series we got to thinking, what's the difference between a SC motor and say a USAC West Coast 360? From what I see the West Coast motors are basically an ASCS motor. You can run an open headed motor but have to use 1 7/8" restrictors or the spec Brodix head and 2 3/16. We were thinking if we struggle with the ethanol or only run a few races we could find a sprint roller and put it in there to run some local shows in Indiana or the WAR series in KC. If a SC motor Is making 750-800 HP will it be competitive with the alum 410's on the local level in Indiana? Is there anywhere that runs non-wing 360's in the Midwest that a SC motor would work in? Thanks

I'm no expert, but I believe the SC motor is actually limited to 355, and it has to be a steel block. I've heard that they are tuned for max horsepower for the big tracks, and that leaves them a little lower on the torque side.

I personally think it will work just fine, we have a 358 modified engine in our non wing sprinter and haven't had much issue locally, I wouldn't want to run with USAC with it. We just put our injection and mag in it
We have run Grain Valley and engines are not what wins there. We have seen 305's win at Grain Valley, after hot laps and early heat races there is no advantage to the 410's
