R.J. WINS THE “HANK ARNOLD MEMORIAL” AT CANYON

Peoria, AZ……..Defending USAC Southwest Sprint Car Champion R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. scored a last-lap victory in Saturday night’s “Hank Arnold Memorial” at Canyon Speedway Park. Wheeling the Michaels machine, Johnson caught Stevie Sussex on the 30th lap to grab the win, followed by Sussex, Josh Pelkey, Matt Rossi and Mike Colegrove. The win vaulted Johnson to second in the standings behind Sussex.

was a breath taking lightn fast pace from start to fin. w/ Gabbard,Pelky,Sussex,Johnson slicen dicin thru traffic till end!!....big crowd lota late arrivals still standn in long line well after the start in dark!!...another great CSP show!!...not sure total car count,but hadta be 100 or so..late fin for Sprints but well worth wait!!...

Agree with Brucer. It was a great feature. Stevie Sussex was out of control various times during the event and tried to slide job Gabbard for lead forcing Gabbard into turn two wall. Last lap pass of Sussex by R.J. Johnson was money's worth. Real good racing in all five division's features. Crowd was large and track only threw dust during sprint feature. Real good surface for area where temperatures were in the 90's!!
