A.J. promoted the Hulman 100 & the Hoosier 100 long before 1997! Don't where that came from! I got posters from the early 90s listing A.J. Foyt's Coors Light Hulman 100 or Hoosier 100, either one. Pretty sure A.J. cut back to just running & promoting the Hoosier 100 after his car was too light after the Hulman 100, one year. Been awhile, can't remember what year.

I love this race and it’s a shame it’s going away, but it paid more in 1965 than it does today. $18k In 1965 is about $140k today. Crazy how time passes some things by.

...I didn't know Robin was so into a connection between Indycars and dirt-tracks, as when Tony George tried that with the IRL, he bad mouthed it enough to get kicked off the grounds!!! lol...meanwhile, Donnie Beechler won the 100 on May 22, 1998, & 2 days later made his 500 debut!!!...Leffler & Yeley both also ran the 500 and won this race too...gota say, it seems like Robin copied & pasted some OLD story he had...lol.

If anyone want's a "modern-era" "big-league" racing connection, you can take the last two names (from above), add Josh Wise, & one Jeff Gordon (altho NOT the Hoosier 100, but the Hulman 100), as those who won there (in Silver Crowns) & then went on to race on network TV on Saturday & Sundays...sure plenty more sprinkled thru the results too (like even a Tony Stewart? lol)...

“The thing that’s really sad is that we were going in a positive direction and had a good crowd last year,” said Sargent, whose passion has kept places like Terre Haute up and running. “We may have a couple of options for 2020 but it’s too early to say what they are, so we’ll just concentrate on trying to fill the place next month.”

Wonder what those options might be - second race at Terre Haute?

I thought the mile at Sedalia was history or are you talking about the half mile track.
