PRESS RELEASE: $5000 MODIFIED POINT FUND

SHEPHERD'S CHEVROLET BUICK of ROCHESTER, IN and PLYMOUTH SPEEDWAY are very excited to announce a partnership for the 2013 racing season.
Shepherd’s Chevrolet Buick will be providing a generous $5000 point fund to the Modified division for the 2013 Season at Plymouth Speedway. The point fund will pay through the Top 10 of the Shepherd’s Chevrolet Modified Division.

“This partnership with Plymouth Speedway gives us an opportunity not only to support a great up-and-coming dirt track facility with this headlining division, but also to help get the word out that Shepherd Chevrolet is Northern Indiana’s only dealer for GM Performance Parts,” commented Austin Shepherd. With Plymouth Speedway allowing the GM Crate engine in the modified division, Austin Shepherd stated “that we hope that modified drivers see the advantage of the 604 Crate Engine and the 100 pound weight break rule at Plymouth as well as all the other crate engines that are available to the other divisions. These engines are very reliable and can provide years of service for all racing divisions. We’d like to invite all competitors to give us a call about their racing performance needs.”

Along with the points fund sponsorship, Shepherd’s Chevrolet Buick will be providing the Pace Truck for every racing event in 2013. Track owner Ed Kennedy commented “the community support has been tremendous for the change to a dirt track, and Shepherd’s Chevrolet joining the team and providing a points fund tells me that our 2013 season will be exciting.”

Please join us at Plymouth Speedway for the 2013 season Saturday nights with our 5 divisions: Shepherd’s Chevrolet Modifieds, Super Street, Thunder Stock, USAC 600 Sprints, and USAC 600 restricted Sprints. Plymouth Speedway, the newest dual dirt track in Indiana!

Nice to see them have a point fund. I'm amazed by the tracks that dont have one and wonder why they dont get cars to stay and compete every week at there track. It gives racers a reason to stay racing at a certain track with something on the backside to look foward to.JMO

Matthew,

Interested in the last line of your press release. What is a "dual dirt track"?

Mike

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

I think what Matt meant is Plymouth is 2 tracks in one. The big 1/4 / 3/8's mile for the big cars and the inner 1/5 mile for the 600 mini sprint divisions.

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.
