To make it official and to cover the 4 W's.
The Pit Stop, Mike & Leslie Heimel of Heimel Auctions in Beech Grove, and Hoosier Auto Racing Fans (HARF), will be holding a Buffet & Auction this coming Sunday, 1-31-2016 to raise money to aid in our buddies recovery.
The place...the Pit Stop BBQ & Grill @ 932 E. Main St., Brownsburg, IN 46112
The when...4 pm to 7 pm. The Pit Stop will close at 2 pm after their Sunday brunch & re-set for our event starting at 4 pm. They will offer a full buffet for a cost of $10.00, if you pay for your brunch in Cash the Pit Stop will donate ALL $10.00 to the fund.
Then at 5 pm sharp we will begin our racing auction with Huge items donated for our cause. We plan on having 20-25 spectacular items for you to bid on, including:
-a 2 seater sprint car ride with the one and only Jack Hewitt!
-an Indy Experience 2 seater ride at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!
-a 1997 Indy 500 Simpson helmet Covered with autographs w/ Stewart & Kinser!
-a 48" x 36" framed Ron Burton silk-screened on heavy art paper, showing the 1961
epic battle between Sachs & Foyt, art gallery worthy.
-a TRAXXAS r/c truck, the "toy" everyone wants, these are the ones given at the USAC Banquet.
-a framed John Mahoney classic Foyt photo in black & white from Terre Haute, 9-11-66.
- a Steve Kinser nose wing & die cast.
& so much more coming in. I hope to pick up a Champions drivers suit tomorrow, Indy 500 plaques, NHRA collectibles, art prints of Steve KInser and Pancho Carter, Jackson Oil & Indy Race Parts gift certificates & more. Please forgive me if you've donated and i've left you off.
Along with the auction items we will be doing a 50/50 raffle with half the money going to the winner and half going to Greg...but prizes too, we will draw raffle ticket numbers during our event for a few goodies, then your ticket goes back into the bucket for the cash prize drawing at the end.
We hope you can join us for a very worthwhile cause & have a great buffet supper too.
One question we have had already is about charge cards, and at this time we have NOT been able to set up a system to be able to charge your auction winnings, so cash or check with proper i.d. we hope will help you out.
Hope to see you Sunday, bob

We were worried putting on an event like this, but its just how i am. An unbelievable turnout, i couldn't be prouder of our racing family. We had em lined out the door at times. We hoped to fill the bar room...but we OVER-FILLED the entire building. To the fans, the drivers, the sponsors, and the donors, you ALL deserve a round of applause, ya'll did damn good today!

Truly a proud event for the open wheel racing family in Brownsburg today! Cannot thank enough those involved in the planning and execution of every aspect of the day. Amazing food, great friends, bountiful donations, and everyone there who helped raise a lotta money for Mr. Staab. Also so glad he was able to come out for the whole event. Thanks to each and every person who helped in this incredible event, and to those who contributed financially. Super job to EVERYONE!
