Chili Bowl car vs. National series car

So, several times we have heard that the Chili Bowl cars are special built and are different than a national series car. So, other than it weights a lot less how are they different? What do they do different to the cars to get the weight out? I am assuming that the motors would be the same in this correct? How many parts carry over from one car to the next?

Thanks
Jon

With the exception of a few one off builds (like mcreedys car) they are all national midgets. There's nothing "special" about them and all parts and engines transfer over. The main difference between the chili bowl and national classes is at the chili bowl they're permitted to run 10 in left rears and 12 in right rears whereas most national series limit size down to 8's and 10's.

That's the jist of it.

Would McCreadie's car be legal in other racing series?

A lot of cars may look like national legal cars, but there are quite a few made with lightweight tubing throughout that are not legal in a national event..

Wonder what ever happened to that thing? I wonder how well the chassis would even work, titanium is rather stiff the spring rates would probably have to be unconventional.
