On a solemn and prayerful night, a big shout out to the veteran Terry Babb for finishing fourth in the Sumar Classic - maybe his best Silver Crown finish ever?

Id also agree that force is a nice way to put it. Racing is racing I guess. I have seen cleaner passes though.

That's for sure. He came from an 18th starting spot, to 4th. Then ran out of fuel (what it looked like), went into the pits, restarted at the end of the lead lap cars and charged back up to 4th, again. It was a very impressive run. Shane Cottle ended up on the podium, from a 19th starting position, which was also a sub-headline in this race. Another was how fast the track continues to be under the care of O'Connor and Sargent. Several Silver Crown cars qualified within a second of the sprint car track record and the feature was really indistinguishable from you're typical sprint feature, there. The extra track prep and expertise has really made a difference.

Those 100 lappers are brutal on these car as I believe only about 15 cars were running at the finish. Not sure I agreed with USAC's call with about 8 or so to go to to throw the red on the caution, to save fuel, because with all of the time it took to refire the cars, I believe it wasted more fuel than not. Battle up front was worth price of admission alone. Nice chatting w/ Frank "dirtnonwingfan". Hope for full and speedy recovery for Shane.

Yes, that was the first time Levi took a shot at Dave on those late restarts. Dave was really coming out of T4 low. (It looked like he was almost rubbing the left front on the inside rail.) Then he would come out to the wall, but dive into T1 on the low side on the first lap after the restart. (Otherwise, he was mostly running the cushion.) Finally, Jones got enough of a run to get inside Dave on the straight, forcing Dave to the cushion on that first lap. Then, Jones did the slide up, forced Dave over the cushion, and Dave almost stopped. Jon had nowhere to go, hit Daves car in the rear and stopped. In the last 30 laps, yellow laps didn't count, so they did like a sprint car feature and went back to the last completed lap. But, evidently Jon's car was damaged and he pulled in during the yellow. Dave restarted in first, but eventually Levi got another shot at the slide. On the second one, Dave turned it over.

You could see some veteran things from Dave. The cushion was building up and getting hard in T4. During yellows, Dave would go up there and try to pack it down, but the other drivers apparently weren't paying attention. By the end of the race cars were really bouncing off it hard.

Good night of racing, with great track prep. Only surprise, was what I thought was a small crowd. Pray for Shane

At the end, the cushion was being launched into the bleachers in big chunks. Every time a car would hit it exiting turn 4, all you could do was turn your head and duck.
