see usac's website for details.

But the same tire must be used qualifying heat and feature.

Okay so looking for some education here, not trying to start a debate or argument or say anyone is wrong or any of that...why are they saying 1 specific type/size of tire at 3 tracks and that type/size of tire or 1 other, at the other tracks? Then the other thing is what happens if you bust/blow/pop a tire, regardless of reason? New stamp and back of the field or ?

Well at least the little teams can't say they new tire'd us every time on the track

Thought with all the rainouts there have been that the shortage might have eased a bit. Guess not.

After talking with hoosier tire people, the rain outs have been easing the shortage some. But if they allow a free for all, there wont be enough tires. Even the Little 500 had a tire restriction. Teams were only allowed 2 sets to make the show, and two sets once you make the race. As far as I'm concerned, they can keep that rule for ever.

An SP-3 is a harder tire. They must feel that you can't make it all night on an SP-2 at those three tracks.

Typically there's such a thing as an approved tire change. If you damage a RR, show it to the officials if they approve the tire change you keep your qualifying position.

This is not the first time a sanctioning body has mandated one tire for the entire night.

Thank you for the education without being an ass about it. I was away from racing for 25 years and although I'm back and try to go to every race I can, I'm still not the sharpest tack when it comes to all the rules, especially detailed specific rules, so again thank you.
