Todd is back in his room now and everything is looking really good at this point. The surgeons had to use 3 plates, 12 screws and an implant to repair the damage, but he already looks so much better. Recovery time may be a little longer than he had hoped and will also depend on whether he has to have additional surgery on his jaw. We will know more on that next week but the doctors who did the work today are hopeful that the repair work they did today will do the trick.

Even though he is still groggy he said he was having some great dreams. Of course it involved racing. His doctors just shake their heads!

Thank you again for all of your calls, thoughts and prayers!

Cindy

Tim you are right. I don't know how to post pictures but the picture by Cary Manvel clearly shows the bumper in the cage. The link to the picture is http://manvelmotorsports.smugmug.com...77237060_yRtki

You are right about the bumper, at my angle all we could see was the tire come around after the bumper had done the damage. Todd is a strong kid and will be back as soon as he can. Dan & Cindy have been friends and sponsors of Spencer Racing since Josh ran the 600, without them we could have not made the jump into the big car. They will continue to help this sport that we love one way or another as they love racing as much as we do.
Get well kid and just call if you need anything.

11:00 am Friday and I just got off the phone with Missy Kirkman. She said they are headig home and that he feels pretty good considering what he went through. The doctors said they have never seen swelling go down so fast and that's a good sign. Hope to have him healthy soon, Keep Todd in your prayers and hope for a speedy recovery.

Get well my friend..........
