Congrats to Kyle Cummins and crew for the win. Best of luck Sunday.

Joss Moffatt tried to make a race of at at the end but needed a few more laps. Early congrats to Joss for a track championship which is pretty much inevitable.

And thanks to Dave and the 'burg crew last night. There were two significant delays in the proceeding; one for lightning in the area during hot laps and the other for pesty light rain during the consis. In spite of that the show moved and the checkers flew for Kyle at 10:09.

Can't wait to do this again, hopefully without the light show and liquid falling from the sky.

Well, Im sure Dave was playing heck with track prep fri night as storms were all around, He put pics up of storms over Greendale as he was attempting to prep. He chose wisely even though they didn't get the amount of rain everyone else did. Some got several inches of rain fri night and within a couple miles of the track.

I got there about quarter till 5 went in the back gate for a change. Scorching 93 degree heat, Tracks packed harder than the fairgrounds driveway and dry dirt at the top five feet of the track. If this was the old track Id of said "Here we go, Huggy pole" But I knew better. I told my uncle and his guest that the racing would be a lot closer and boy was I right. Horsepower was overcome several times in the night with setup, skill and a right foot connected directly to your arse rather than a thump-er motor.

I don't know what it is because I've seen great races on the track when its been tacky as hell and when its baby bottom smooth and slick. I gave up griping about what track looks like after hot laps. I've pretty much know that on this track that the racing seems to be great either way. Rather than the super fast and can only gain a car length a lap. Finesse and skill were paramount.

The heats had more sliders than the whole White Castle Corporation and many that you wouldn't think finished in the top two for the redraw, You could move forward and many did. However if you slipped up and any gains made were lost and positions as well. Grant tried everything in his heat. Top, Bottom, diamond, Cut off two and four dive runs but still only moved up to fourth.

Sprint feature ran two wide for every position through sixth, Travis Hery, Tony Main and others battling for the top five while as I said HP didn't mean much in the heats as several heavy hitters started deep. This made it neat and several drivers to follow during he early feature as Grant started 18th and moved to fourth at one point. Moffatt started 11th and wrestled second from a very fast Andretti about lap 21 and was running down Cummins at the checker with only about three car lengths short. Cummins started about 7th I think and just finessed and picked cars off quietly taking the lead about lap twelve and was unchallenged until the very end but he wasn't running away with it either. Moffatt was on a charge and coming strong, If it was 30 laps, It might have been a different outcome.

The last seven laps between Grant and Leary over fourth and fifth was a battle royale cage match with Main, Abrams and others poking in there from time to time. Just unreal.

Congrats to Kyle Cummins on the win. Hope to see you here more often!

The weather was just freaky. from 530 till about 645 we had lightning just up the hill in bright CG lightning and thunder that was very loud at the track and blankets of rain you could see just above Greendale. Once the rain moved west and south You could see lightning up until about 930 down in KY just across the river But at the track we just had the thin clouds leftover from everything which decided to come down in light rain for about 20 minutes after the sun went down..

WE GOT IT IN and thanks for everyone's efforts. It went from 93* at hot-lap time to 68* at the end of the hornet feature.

VERY FUN NIGHT! When I made my other post, I just figured the players that be would have posted all the Track is junk etc blah blah Ive come to expect. I'll agree, It wasn't great but the racing was and it survived a half hour showers too.

Thanks Kim, Dave, Crew and everyone. Hope all the staff is ok and safe as I noticed a couple personnel changes for the features. Hope Rick Lane got some pics of the Cone Man

My two cents...this weekends prep was a nightmare! It all started Friday night while doing our usual watering...strongest storms I have ever seen without a drop of rain...we had to deal with 40-50 mph winds while trying to water the track. The lightening show was crazy. Saturday morning everything was looking great, and then......the floater truck that we usually use all day watering had the right rear tire fall off the hub and it was done for the day. So I had to use our big semi yellow truck to water all day. Which makes it difficult to water the top. Fast forward to 4pm...I was closely watching the radar and big storms were coming and I figured they would hit around hot lap time.....so...without the floater truck to pack the track thought I better start packing the track. Had the track sealed pretty good right about hot lap time. Well the skies darkened the winds picked up and the lightening was intense. So we got hot laps in for sprints and mods and stopped the show so folks would seek shelter, all the while we packed the track tighter to seal it for the obvious torrential downpour that was coming....well we somehow got no rain! Unbelievable!! We carried on with the racing and track was good but was drying out. The plan was to water during the redraw on the stage, but saw radar with light showers moving in so opted to just keep the program going. Well it rained just enough to make the track slick enough not to race on for about 30 minutes. The show went on and the track was slick, but the racing was great! The racers in all classes put on a great show for the great fans in attendance. In the end we started on time, had over a hour in delays and ran a lot of heats and 3 b-mains and was done with everything before 11:30!!!! Hats off to everyone for hanging in there with us and putting on a awesome show! Thanks, Dave and Kim Rudisell
