I watched it the other night, and it sure looked like he might have been an extra. I know it was filmed in Bloomington in about 1978 or 1979.

He wasn't in any of the "CAST" listed for the movie. If he was a extra that's another story.

It is a coming of age film made back in the 70's about a Bloomington Indiana kid that thinks or wants to think that he is an Italian cyclist and his escapades as he progresses into racing in the University of Indiana Little 500 bike race.

Pretty funny you should check it out. It was filmed in Bloomington and who knows Steve might have been in a crowd scene. I guess he would have curly blond hair then??

It is an excellent movie sort've in the same vein as "Hoosiers." Yes, it's that good. All filming was done in and around Bloomington including the old quarries.

Good question and a good possibility. Makes me wanna watch it again to look for him. His shop is actually really close to those quarries and if you walk from my backyard in a straight line thru those same quarries you'll come out at his shop. The quad is much easier though..lol

Ok an other question for Steve. Did he grow up (know) John (cougar) Mellencamp? Is he not from the same area and age?

I'm pretty sure John Mellencamp is from Seymour In and moved to the Bloomington area later in life.
