I'm sure nobody on this site is watching the race but just wondered if the experts could tell me why they started this race so late?

Seeing those stands so empty sure can't be good for the future of any kind of racing.

Well the rains came in just after the start of the race. And it takes a couple hours to dry the track. But now in the 3rd stage has been quite a crash fest

Too bad they didn't have a time slot to interview him after his big win!

The moment he held in there 3 wide in T3, you knew he was either going to win it or come in on the wrecker. Hell of a job by Kasey showing he can still get up on the wheel

Good race. Started on time, thunderstorms intervened a couple hours. I run 410 sprints and enjoyed the race. Great watching Kyle run through the field, Ricky ran well...for a while, Kasey beat Kes in turn 1 last lap at 200mph, all good stuff. IMS has 235,000 permanent seats with infield seating topping 400,000. 50,000+ people would still look empty. I've seen as many yellows and crashes in some marathon 40 lap, 1/4 mile sprint car races.
