Winchester is cancelled all ready and they are not making up the date. Last year it was rained out and made up the next week. Why is it not being made up next week like last year. Must be a USAC thing to cancel so early.:headbang:kookoo:angry-smiley-007:

It's very rare for a sanctioning body to cancel a race. That was most likely the promoter's decision. And, it was most likely the promoter's decision to not reschedule. I assume the weather forecast for tomorrow is bad?

Sounds just like last year's race:

Sunday
Occasional rain. Rain may be heavy at times. Highs in the lower 60s. East winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

The July 2 race was already schedule it is not a make up date read the usac schedule. And the reason the promoter has to cancel early is because he would have to still pay the high USAC sanction fee they charge it is unfair to the fans that are already camping and are local fans looking forward to this race. Just like last week at eldora it rained in the morning but they could have raced.:angry-smiley-007:

It sprinkled this morning but it has not rained since it is bone dry here. USAC and Winchester speedway should at least give us the real reason they cancelled.:angry-smiley-007::loser::headbang

From Winchester's website:

The April 19 season opener at Winchester Speedway has been canceled. Officials from CRA, USAC, and Winchester Speedway came to an agreement Saturday, that canceling early was the best option due to the impending forecast and tough economic times. Officials wanted to avoid a Sunday cancellation after fans made the long trip to see what would have been a great show.

The event will not be rescheduled but the CRA Super Series Late Models have been added to the May 17 King of the Wings show. The Rich Vogler Classic will now be held on July 2.
