We are pleased to announce that we will have a total of 13 National Midget Events at Jacksonville Speedway in 2019. Ten of these events will be a part of our regular weekly racing program. These local events will pay $1,000 to win/$150 to start and will only be open to those drivers who have not won two USAC or POWRi National events in 2018.

We will have an open 4 cylinder engine rule and will require POWRi wheels and tires. Not wanting to author a 50 page rule book, assume - except for engines - that POWRI rules will prevail in most instances. Shows will use passing points but expect a fairly sizable invert or redraw.

The last thing a promoter should do is count cars during the winter when everyone plans to race everywhere all the time. But over the past week we have been doing that and think we can confidently predict a full or close-to-full field most nights. We are lucky to have some very talented midget drivers and teams nearby - and their support and enthusiasm for this program has been remarkable. No doubt you will be watching names you know.

And when I say watching... we intend to stream all of these events - except the one in conjunction with our All Star event - live for Free.

None of these local events conflict with a USAC or POWRi event elsewhere. .

With 13 events at our track - and another 15 or 20 POWRi or USAC events within a short drive, the Jacksonville/Springfield area should have a thriving midget scene in 2019. We feel like we have one of the best tracks in America for midget racing - and it's time to make that a more prominent part of what we offer our fans.

Several rental/driver development opportunities are available in the immediate area through Ripper Factory Racing, Jake Neuman Racing, Daum Motorsports and others. And we also have opportunities for you to arrive and drive your own car with local storage, professional maintenance and track trailer/crew. Leave your car. Show up and race it.

So that's what we are doing. Text me at 217-371-3653 if you would like more information or have enough interest for me to keep you in the loop. And here's when we are doing it:

Sunday April 28 - POWRi with World of Outlaws
