The racing action moved just 26 miles, many farm odors, a river over the hi way, two gravel roads with dust, to Southern Iowa Speedway for the front row challenge. With 3 to 4 inches of rain over night the activities were just a little late getting underway, also many haulers were parked out in the streets surrounding the track, sort of a open pit area you might say, I wonder if they still had to pay for a pit pass?

The racing came down to the match races between the top 8 qualifiers for the pole starting position and the chance to win the $50,000, if the driver decided to start in the back and try to make it to the front for the win. The best and most closely contested race was between Joey Saldana and Tyler Walker, I won't spoil it for you so watch the video.

Tyler Walker jumped to front on the opening lap and would survive two passes by Sammy Swindell which would not count because of yellow flags. With just 4 laps to go Walker would have a rear tire explode coming out of turn #2 handing the lead over to Swnidell.

Swindell would go on to win the race and become the first back to back winner of the race in it's history. I for one am glad to see Sammy Swindell back in the lime light of the sprint car ranks, you might say just like old times, could we see Sammy and King Kinser in a battle on the last lap of the Nationals for the win. Might be what the Nationals needs for sagging ticket sales.

We make the journey again to night for the wing less sprints at Southern Iowa Speedway for the Ultimate Challenge. Their will be a different winner as last years winner Jesse Hocket will not be returning. Might be a good time to think about Calling this race, "The Rocket Ultimate Challenge". Enjoy.
