I've had good luck with a Harbor Freight sonic cleaner and use it regularly. For just a few hundred dollars, a larger higher quality unit is available from several internet sites.
Go visit a gun shop. Hornaday makes a very good cleaner and you can buy the various cleaning agents for your ultrasonic unit.. They clean brass like polished gold prior to reloading.

v8j, be very careful when using some brands of brake clean, I, like you, have used it for years, but on occasion have noticed some side effects, that's why they tell you to use it in a well ventilated area, the reason, when combined with some other ingredients can produce phosgene gas, which will kill you too dead to skin, it was used during WWl in trench warfare to do just that, and no, to my knowledge, we didn't use it, it is especially dangerous when used to clean something like aluminum, that you are going to weld, most of us have been lucky, and only gotten dizzy, but be aware, it can kill.
