It seems ct to pa got a little testy on the last post of the first thread.Since it looks like rain t-nite for everything, here is a thought for us all to ponder and fight over.It will give us something to do.No work on cars under red ever. Even if the red is going to be 30 days no working on car.Only fuel. If you do not have setup at start it sucks to be you.How about that.

That's a racer vs spectator argument I suppose. When did fuel stops become commonplace? Same for open reds? You bet your behind any racer with a huge lead would not be in favor of an open red. However, 23 other drivers and a grandstand of spectators might appreciate it.

Not trying to be a jerk, But why do we need a part two? Take a fuel stop? This is like dividing the race up into different parts.

The whole point of sprint and its called sprintcar racing is one race in a short time. May the best man and car win. Not change the setup, tire or add fuel half way.

The whole idea of a thread is to discuss a subject within it. Not have multiple threads.

YMMV.

Exactly. Back when I started working on them, we had fuel tanks big enough to last the whole race without worry of cautions etc and the red flags were open. Have seen torsion bars, gears, shocks and tires changed under these stops. Then they outlawed changing tires, then it became closed reds. The only that that really upsets me is when there have been a lot of yellows and a red comes out after 1/2 way and keep it a closed red. Allow us to refuel so they don't have to throw another red for a fuel stop.
