So Saturday while at Daughtery a new rule emerged for the fans. No live streaming will be tolerated at the track. If you are caught violating the rule you will be kicked out for the season. This applies for Facebook live video and periscope.

What does everyone think of this rule?

Sounds fair to be. It's their product and their rules. We can buy tickets or not if we don't like the rules. I bet you can't go to a movie or an NFL game and set up shop to stream live to a bunch of your friends for free. Not surprised with all the tech now rules like this start appearing. I can't say it will affect me as I have never live streamed anything so far. I however have sent a buddy a text update here and there is that O.K still?

Former Kamp speedway. Boswell IN

As for the rule. I haven't seen periscope yet worth watching. I have seen some pretty good phone or Ipad video taken and posted right after the race that was pretty good.

I don't care what anyone says. Being there is the only satisfying way to enjoy racing. I can watch TV racing or videos all day. Live or not and it doesn't rumble the grandstand and take your breath away.

SO

What If a driver decided to do it with his in car camera???

Can you record it and then delay broadcast???

We have finally reached our "Brave New World" just a few years late.

Route 45 Speedway is in Flora; Daugherty is in Boswell as Charles said. If they feel it's detrimental to their business to allow live streaming it's their right to prohibit it, just as it's a track's right to prohibit outside food, beer, etc. Nothing's said about a delayed posting of in-car GoPro's, I-phone videos or anything else. As a matter of fact I can't find anything about it on either their website or Facebook page...

There will always be people in business who chase "Pennies" and lose "Dollars". This is one of those cases. For one to be concerned about live streaming at the current quality is laughable. Sorry people are not staying home to watch a periscope feed of a race. These people were not coming anyway so who cares. The only thing you have lost is from free publicity about your track from the few who would have "Tuned In". To me its free advertising. I would be all for it thats why business are so involved in social media. Some day it will become an issue. When the quality improves of the streaming and people start using tripods then it could raise an eyebrow. No way an iPhone stream is affecting the gate at a local short track.
