Im not sure how they break up the days they run, but I do know that they just do a pill draw daily for heat race lineups.

You requst what night you would like to qualify on your entry form. Thats why you see same drivers running same night year after year. A lot of the entries don't requst a day and those are used to get close to same number of cars Mon-Fri.

Thank you both. Now I understand why the announcers last night kept talking about Rico and Wednesday all the time.

The "favorites" are spread rather equally amongst nights. Knowing they are all going to the B or the A Saturday, this makes Saturday night better, since all the "favorites" will be there at the end. Each night, the "favorites" are spread out among heat races as well. This ensures they are all there at the end of each night, which makes each night better. We all know there's about a dozen that have a chance against a few hundred that don't. They do a pretty good job of spreading the dozen out to make sure they are all there at the end on Saturday night. Not all on one night or all in one heat race.

They draw for heat race positions, I have drawn many times. You hope not to get front row, as you need passing points to go with finishing points.
