It was an awesome car count. But the track was as dry as the Sarah Desert..

As the promoter of the BOSS series, I'd like to thank all the teams, fans and staff at Fremont Speedway for making this a great event. With 2 late arrivals, final car count was 52 sprint cars.
First off I want to apologize to those in attendance for the late night. Time trialing 52 cars took longer than expected. With threatening weather all around, the track promoter did not water the track heavily because we expected a brief shower that ultimately missed the track. There WAS rain around us. That led to us chasing the track all night long. Secondly, I want to apologize for the first ever BOSS fuel stop in history. I hate fuel stops and vow to do everything we can from having that ever happen again. But 24 cars battling for $5,000 plus contingencies had everyone fighting hard for positions. The checkered flag fell on our A-Main at just a few minutes before midnight. Thanks to everyone for being patient and we hope to see you all the next BOSS events at Limaland and Lawrenceburg June 10-11. Aaron Fry BOSS |

Aaron is correct, there was rain all around. Drove through rain twice on the way there and it spit rain at the track for a while early. This was the second consecutive day for racing at Fremont. Considering that, I thought the track was exactly what I expected and not bad at all.
Fremont is a place I've been visiting for almost 40 years and holds a special place for me. Put 50+ non-wing cars on that track and I'm as close to heaven as this world will allow. I'm taking a real liking to the BOSS series.

Ballou was saying the same thing about the track. Good thing Jim Ford was not around or he might naughta ran the feature !!!
Dean Jacobs ran 3rd one night & in the interview he said he liked fast tracks & it was not fast Ol Jim walked over to Dean & slung his arm towards the North (pointing) telling him to get out. |
