and if they know what they are testing for, so do the ones supplying it to the ones applying it on the tires. they can develop a "blocker" and hides the substance being tested for. the "pro" fuel mixers do it all the time. they can mix a batch of highly illegal fuel and it will test negative for any additives.....ps....its not just about softening. there are potions out there that can do anything you want....harder, softer, more grip, less grip, stiff sidewalls, floppy sidewalls and the whole time, the durometer reads what it is suppose to. kart racing tried for years to stop it and basically gave up. any time they came up with an "unbeatable" test, one person beat it then everyone followed.

It's a shame they can't team up with scientists to make cars safer.

Wow, great news, this will solve all the wrongs of racing. This should not only lead to huge car counts on dirt but bring back pavement racing to its prime. So good to see concentration within the key area that created the demise of racing.

How about eliminate spec tires rules and go back to OPEN Tire like BOSS is.

As someone with a degree in chemistry, I'm intrigued as to how this is accomplished

I did some tests for newton for a couple of years. there`s no such thing as a spec tire. Bob said he could make any tire and just put a spec number on it!
