neither lawrenceburg or all star sprints have a date for the fall classic. will there be a race or is it over? i always looked forward to this race.

they either need to make that race non winged or have it at freemont or attica where they can get cars and fans for a winged show.

The Hoosier Fall Classic has never been the same since the last year on the 1/4 mile in 2006! It's a shame for a race with so much history to go by the wayside. What about the Jeff Thickstun Memorial?,another great race gone at the "Burg"!

October 1st is the "Fall Nationals" at Lawrenceburg featuring the traditional sprint cars of USAC & MSCS. Apparently the "Hoosier Fall Classic" is now a thing of the past.

How many dirt races are there in Indiana for winged sprints or late models in 2011?

WOO will be at Tri State and Bloomington. Lucas Oil Late Models will be at Brownstown & Lawrenceburg. Brownstown runs late models on a weekly basis for their regular shows as well. That is all I know about on dirt.

up till they changed the track, there were 50 + winged sprints and probably the biggest crowd of the year. now things have changed, but not for the better in my opinion. they have been having 10k non-winged races, but when you have the same special all the time,(2 or 3 times a year) it's not special anymore. just because you don't like wings or lates or...... doesn't mean others don't

So other than Brownstown, that makes 4 races (there is 1 late model race at Kokomo as part of the Klash) in the entire season for winged sprints or late models. It's interesting that just outside of Indiana there are tracks like Eldora, Lima, Oakshade, Florence, Kankakee, Butler, etc. that have strong support for good late model and winged sprint car racing, but promotors in Indiana rarely ever bring in those classes to the race tracks here. I'm sure there will be many that will chime in by saying they don't draw enough cars or fans here, but I think you have to consider the effort put into making those shows successful by the promotors as well.

brownstown can't draw enough super late models so the run more crate late models now. in the 70's and 80's it was the premier late model track in the country.

Used to go to that show back in the day when it was a wicked fast 1/4 mile. One of the best races of the year always...............Then they changed the track..................
