Costs are way out of hand in all forms of racing, except maybe for Sport Compacts.

Yes you are correct but the silver crown cars have really been hit hard for example the switch to the speedway cars cost teams that made the change about 80k how many of those owners are still around then the switch to ethanol now back to methanol what's next ???????

Pavement sprints are shelved, while at the same time, pavement Silver Crown is 'growing'. And, by growing, I mean more pavement races at more race tracks, even though we've been there before. Color me 'bewildered'.

Just a few years ago, there were 8,000 in the stands at DuQuoin. There are some interested fans out there

Like everything else, it's about the marketing. USAC just doesn't have a good (enough) PR team.

I believe that getting rid of the pavement might help, but only due to cost. I think one of the best ideas is to get a famous past driver (Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse, Ryan Newman, etc.) to drive a race or two or even just be there to sign autographs and tha will attract fans back. There is at least 100 cars laying around that could be run up to standards, for example the Foxco #56 is something like 15 years old and still runs with the best of them. Believe it or not there is a lot of cars and motors and they can bought reasonable enough that guys can go racing on dirt very reasonable. Also, there is a ton of tracks that could be great places to run-Paducah, Syracuse, Sacramento, Las Vegas, the dirt track at Charlotte, etc. I think there is a positive way to look at the series if promoters, fans, car owners, and drivers would just give it a chance! - Greg Hardy of Hardy Boys Motorsports #114

Dear USAC PR DEPT. How about having a coupon in local newspapers 2 for 1 offer for silver crown , sprint, and midget races just maybe it would help put some fans in the stands. Everytime there is a race the general public has NO IDEA, a event is even taking place. The silver crown series needs this more than the other series. The regulars who attend these races maybe able to introduce these races to someone who otherwise wouldn't attend. There is a old saying " If its not broken, don't fix it". Guess what " It is broken " do something different.
