On behalf of everyone at Vermilion County Speedway, we are asking everyone for their opinion. DATE CHANGE!!! SUNDAY NIGHT AUGUST 19th after conferring with different factors in the industry.
So if anyone wants to see a big non winged show at VERMILION COUNTY SPEEDWAY, Please let us know here. Your help is greatly appreciated. If enough interest is generated, we can make this happen!

After watching drivers whine about how much it pays for 15th, good luck drawing cars. Big money shows scare off more guys it seems then draws them. They all talk about wanting to run them , but when it's time to put up or shut up, there is more shut up then put up. Look at Eldora Saturday, $10,500 to win , $1000 to start, 36 cars.
See how many cars show up at Tri State this weekend before taking the plunge on a big money show. With $5000 on the line for Saturday night, you should expect at LEAST 40 cars at Tri State. We'll see. Trouble is only 2 or 3 guys go expecting to win, the rest worry about the start money. The sad part is , the guys who don't think they can win are the ones that go to fill the field. Too bad they don't go thinking they can win, they lost before they left the shop. And if you think I don't have a dog in this fight, I have helped financially with a car this year, and we'll be at Tri State, where the money is. |

Any Sunday in Aug would be good. But instead of one big show......why not 2 decent weekly shows. The MOWA race was a success, but with the inactivity of the track since I helped run the last 2 shows before it in 2010, don't take a chance on losing your ass on one big one. $1400 to win/$200 to start......the Lawrenceburg payoff would be a great one to copy. Promote them like the MOWA race and they will be a money maker. And the cars will come, in all classes.

This is going to be tough because so many schools here in Central Indiana including the one I work at start this week. Then throw in the one hour time difference its going to be hard for me to come. I am one of the biggest fans for Vermilion County Speedway because I grew up in the area.
Its way too hot in August to have a Sunday afternoon show but it would have to be a sprint show with maybe one extra class like modifieds. No one can stay until midnight and drive home on Sunday nights. Has anyone maybe considered the Sunday of Labor Day weekend? I know Tri State normally races that Sunday but its so far from Danville IL it should not make a difference. |
