rear end offset installation

I need some help here. I bought a 1 inch offset rear end to run in our TQ. Problem is that it had a 3 inch offset before. When I try to install this rear end, the jacobs ladder extends approx 2 inches past the bird cage. Is the reason for this because the firewall has the engine mounting holes offset to the left, causing more axle length on the right side. Should I consider having a new firewall made with the engine mount centered. Any help would be appreciated.

Post this in the race tech discussion form. Some of those guys could tell ypu what you need to do. That form is on the home page!

Space your birdcage out to get the rear arm and ladder to line up properly.

You could space the birdcage out or it would most likely be best to get a centered motor plate, I assume you're running a Honda.
