Larry Martin,and won a lot of races. Also Rick Hood because they had a two car team.

Did Larry Martin race long ? And where was he from ?

From Martinsville area, raced several years, won several races at multiple tracks. Originally drove the McClure 83. Not sure of the year but sustained a head injury in a bad wreck, I think on one of the mile tracks. He retired from driving and now lives in Florida.

super guy and a great racer!!! back in the mid 70's i was an 18 year old kid helpen randy kinser on his start up team.. one night @ paragon after the races, larry wanted to take his street car around the track... well i went out with him, wow that was crazy!!!!!

I believe Larry was injured during the running of the Hoosier Hundred; seems like early eighties.

Amati did drive for Shields Lumber back in the early 80's......Shields told me at a banquet that he had to relieve Chuck of his driving duties because he had created quite a sprint car junkyard behind his barn....
