Surprise surprise, Kody Swanson out front. Tanner in 2nd with Coons in third. Just had a caution for a spin. Coming up on halfway.

Kody Swanson won over Tanner in 2nd after a late caution caused a late dash for the win.

Ouch Paw! Wonder if they said the same thing back in the day when it was Andretti and Foyt, or Garry and Larry. Sometimes your just better than the competition!

Sometimes you are just better.

But in the past the driver was a lot bigger part of the equation when it came to making a car faster. Now it's mostly just equipment.

Today's Silver Crown cars are so well engineered that they do a lot of the work that used to be done by the driver. And modern super wide and sticky tires make it almost impossible to even spin a Silver Crown car at a track like LOR.

The cars are impressively fast but they usually don't put on a very good show which is why pavement racing is just about dead in USAC.

BTW, the crowd at Lucas Oil was awful last night. There might have been 250 fans in the stands in total. And that's too bad because there were some first class ARCA late models that also practiced along with a Thunder Roadster program. All this ran before the Silver Crown event.
