Still waiting for the rain. Picked up my chairs place looked pretty good? forecast change for the better after it was called. Bad decision. no significant rain till 11pm. Why not wait till 4 or 5 to call this?

Why didn't they re-schedule it for Sunday?

Let’s just say for the sake of argument they waited and they did cancel it ,how do you think that would go over with the drivers and the car owners ,it wasn’t looking good at the time I know it rained all night on us I woke up this morning looked outside and saw how wet everything was and I knew they were going to call it ,we packed up and left about 10:30 ,damned if you do damned if you don’t

Btw thanks for two great sprint car shows

No dog in the fight here but you’d have to think the get it in at all costs meter would be pegged at E given most all the teams have a long drive ahead. Looks bleak let em get on the road home in daylight hours.

[QUOTE=duel;537184] Why not wait till 4 or 5 to call this? I"d say because there were a lot of people who have jobs they need to be back to on Monday, forecast didn"t look good so let the fans, teams head on home in the daytime. Its not like being home in Indiana where you may have a 2, 3, 4 hour drive home in place of a 10, 12 hour drive. I swear some people would bi$ch if they were hung with a new rope.

Getting home would have made no difference. The show should have been run as scheduled. 2 hrs or 3 makes no difference when you are 900 or 1200 miles from home. Again, no rain all day. Or was it a paying the purse issue?

Pits were an absolute quagmire, even at the front/top.
We went through the same on midget weekend. We would not have been able to run midgets on Sunday because it was simply too wet. By the time we ran Monday, we couldn’t get the track to slow down, it was so juiced up from rain 36 hours earlier.
No track wants to cancel their Saturday show. It is the biggest of the week. They all lost both Saturdays, which is a huge loss of income. Yes, that’s right - East Bay & Volusia also cancelled on Saturday.
It sucks. No one wants to cancel, especially the final night.
