[Unlucky#9]

In my random "cruising the southern part of the state" this past weekend, I came across an old non down tube sprint car sitting in the weeds in someone's front yard. I pulled in the drive to get a better look at it, but didn't get out for fear of being fired upon. It was a black car with a red painted chassis. It had some pin striping and a #3 on the tail tank.
Does anyone know who may have owned/driven the car when it was actually running the circuit? Location is in the area of Bean Blossom. I'm still tossing the idea around in my head of going and offering the guy some money for it and try to do a restoration project on it.

If it is the one I think it is, it was Mike Slater that drove a little while ago but passed away in a four wheeler accident. His family placed it out there in memory of him.

If that's the case, the least they could do would be to weed eat around it once in a while. It's nearly completely grown over by weeds.

That's definately Mike Slaters car. He raced at Paragon a lot in the early 2000's before he passed. Would be great if someone would restore it and take it around Paragon Speedway a few more times.

That car has been there for several years...highway 135 I believe. I always about drive off the road looking at it as I go by.

Still on 135 just on the north side of Fruitdale.
