Phoenix International Raceway - 1964-2010 - Rest In Peace.

ISC/NASCAR are taking out the dogleg on the back straight. This ruins one of the great race tacks in the country. I hate these bastards more everyday.

They will still talk about the great races there with USAC Champ, Silver, Sprint, Midget and Mods but the track will of lost it's dogleg.

The track must be too hard for those guys. There aren't that many real racers left in NASCRAP land . Next thing you know they'll say Indy is too "square", and they'll want to change the corners to high banks.I just wish those p*ssies would just shut up and drive.

I read a rumor a while back about it being change. Was hoping it wasn't true. Glad I got out there to see the Copper. It will now just be another track. I really wish Nascar didn't own any tracks. An absolutly clueless group.

How would they ever handle the right hand dogleg at Trenton?

What is the source for this change? I looked on the track website and quite a few others and didn't see any mention of changing the configuration of PIR. It wouldn't be Phoenix without the dog leg. I went to the old Copper classics there and and wish it was still running at the big track.

That is EXACTLY what they did with the original configuration of Homestead.

Thanks for the links. Hopefully they just repave and forget about the progressive banking. I have nothing against NASCAR, but the races are so long I can't stand to watch them anymore. I have to admit I always get excited for the Daytona 500. I would rather watch a night of sprints than any 500 mile race though, including the Indy 500.
