just thinking that it would be great to see it at one of the great dirt tracks in indiana. i think that would be something a track would love to have and hold a great race and have a bunch of hall of famers being inducted to the usac hall of fame. what track here in indiana would be the best fit to have the usac hall of fame.

I may be a bit biased but I can't imagine Jack Hewitt not being in the first class. 2 time silver crown champion most silver crown wins second in sprint wins swept the 4 crowns.

I think first couple of years should be a mix of drivers owner and mechanices from the part and ones who are still alive but retired from active raceing . I feel the ones still alive should be honored so they could enjoy being inducted

hello all, this is my first post to the board. been reading it for a couple of years, but never felt i had anything worthwhile to add until now.
given usac's long history with american motorsports, the first class shouldn't be limited to 5 or 10 people. 50 plus years leaves a lot of catching up to do. there's a lot of people now gone that belong as well as those now retired from active competition to choose from. after the first class, limit the inductees to 12 per year, 5 drivers, 5 owner/mechanics and 2 "other"(press, media, promoters etc.).
as to where to locate the hall, indy is the only choice, but not the speedway. how about at the fairgrounds mile? plenty of history there, and a have the hall at a track to boot. if you want a stand alone site, is the 16th st stadium still there? that would be a good use if it is.
as to who should go first, i agree with almost all the names mentioned, but noted one not mentioned. lonestar jr, johnny rutheford should go in, too.
