Nelson Reunites with Harris Racing in 2017 Finale at DuQuoin
By Jessica Jenkins

This Saturday USAC's traveling show unloads in Southern Illinois for a special event without season points on the line. Following the Turkey Night Grand Prix a few weeks ago, Tyler Nelson returns to Harris Racing's #91 for the race where they began this partnership in 2016. Having come a long way over the past twelve months, they are looking to cap the season off with another top ten run.

A huge field of entries will pose a challenge, but three of the Nelson/Harris duo's past four races have netted one top ten and two results just inside the top dozen. Knowing he will have to bring his A game to the Junior Knepper 55, the 20 year old Nelson is optimistic he can land in the top ten. Passing points will be used to set the Feature's starting field, which could very well play to their advantage. Back in July when Nelson last drove the #91 in USAC at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, he was tied for first in passing points after the heats and still third following the Qualifiers. Beginning the USAC season indoors at Du Quoin back in March, Tyler Nelson and car owner Jack Harris are ready to finish it off strong at the same location.

Building up to the 55 lap feature inside the Du Quoin State Fairground's Southern Illinois Center, hot laps roll on track at 4pm local time. Gates open at 3pm so you can get your seats before watching USAC's National midgets fight it out. Tickets are $20 at the track and are also available at usactickets.com. Or if you are unable to make it, Speed Shift TV will have live Pay-Per-View for $24.95.

In His Own Words
"I'm looking forward to going back there and kind of build on what Jack and I have done. We've had a whole year together and had a pretty good year. We almost finished out without any big issues other than the last race at Belle-Clair. We've got to start off with trying to make the A Main. With so many entries and so little of a track, you've got to just shoot for making the A main because a lot of it comes down to just a little bit of luck going your way. After that a top 10 run would be really great and I think we're definitely capable of that."
