When the dust settled from qualifying for the 66th Pay Less Little 500 at Anderson Speedway, it was Mel Kenyon Midget Series Alumni who owned the day. Kenyon Midget drivers picked up 5 of the first six starting positions for Saturday’s 66th running of the Pay Less Little 500.

Bryan Clauson earned the pole position beating Aaron Pierce’s four-lap time by a scant 0.366 second. Jerry Coons Jr, the only driver in the top six that hasn’t competed in Kenyon Midgets, will sit on the outside of the front row.

The second row is all Kenyon Midget Alumni group featuring Kyle Hamilton, 2013 Pay less Little 500 Winner Jacob Wilson and 2011 Pay Less Little 500 winner Chris Windom. All three drivers not only won in the Mel Kenyon cars, they all scored victories at Anderson Speedway.

Thirty-three cars set qualifying times during Thursday’s two hour window. The fastest 15 cars are locked into their starting positions for the 500-lap race. The top 15 teams will also get first choice of pit assignments in Anderson Speedway’s unique pit area utilizing the “X” of the figure 8 track in the infield of the high banked quarter mile track.
