I was thinking last night about the drivers who have won championships in the National Midget, National Sprint, and Silver Crown divisions. I know there have been several but not as many as one would expect.

I know Tony Stewart won all three in the same year. I think J.J. Yeley won all three but not sure he did all three in the same year. Who else has won all three of those divisions at some point in their career?

Pancho Carter
Tony Stewart
Dave Darland
J.J. Yeley
Jerry Coons, Jr.
Tracy Hines

Stewart (1995) and Yeley (2003) are the only drivers to win all 3 USAC National Championships in a single season.

Almost 40 years ago this back yard builder built such a car, looks like it could perform pretty good today.

#56....

front engine...

That must be Herk.

Was that the "Mallard"?

I think ya got that in on the wrong thread, though. It sure would be cool to see a beast like that on the big track. With modern advances I bet they could easily get a car sorta like that to set a new track record.

Now if I could only figure out how I did it so I can put it where it belongs.
