FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8/23/14: RockAuto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series readies for Carolina/Georgia double-header on Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st

August 23, 2014 - After several weeks of inactivity the www.rockauto.com USCS Sprint Car Series” Chained Lightning” Tour racing season re-fires over the Labor Day weekend in Western North Carolina and Northwestern Georgia with a double-header at two speedways approximately two hours apart.
On Saturday, August 30th the winged min/micro sprint car series visits the legendary Harris Speedway 3/8 mile Carolina red clay oval near Rutherfordton, North Carolina for its first ever contest as part of the inaugural “Sprint Car Wars” event. On the following night, Sunday, August 31st, the USCS 600 Sprint Cars visit the historic 1/3 mile Toccoa Speedway Georgia red clay oval in Toccoa, Georgia as part of the 3rd annual Sunday of Speed held each Labor Day weekend.

Both of the USCS 600 Sprint Car Series races will award both national championship and USCS Southern regional series championship points. Only 15 points separate the top three drivers in the USCS 600 Southern region point standings.

Expected entries include 2013 National Champion and current National point’s leader, Sean Hosey from Clarksville, Tennessee plus current runner-up in those standings Bo Barber also from Clarksville as well. Kyle Amerson who will see double duty in both the UCS 600 and USCS 360 sprint car divisions leads the USCS 600 Southern region point standings.
Several other top competitors expected include Chris Openshaw from Bessemer, Alabama and 2013 USCS 600 Southern region Champion, Bob Trapino from Alpharetta, Georgia. Mike Magic from Winder, Georgia who trails Amerson in the Southern region standings by a scant 13 points is also entered. Additionally entered for both events is 14 year-old August 9th Duck River Speedway feature winner and 2013 Rookie of the Year, Brandon Taylor from Cumming, Georgia. Taylor is just 2 points behind Magic in third place in the Southern region standings.

The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series joins the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour filtercharged by K&N Filters winged sprint cars both nights on action-packed racing cards that also including Late Model and Stock Car racing. In addition to the USCS open wheel double-header.
Drivers from at least five states are expected for the series 12th and 13th and 2014 events. Each night the A-Main pays $500 to the winner. One driver could pocket $1100 for a weekend sweep of the double-header.
