360 Costs?

I'm looking at moving into a full size sprint for the 2018 season. I am looking into a wingless crate class with spec shocks & tires or a winged 360. I was wondering if somebody could give me an idea on your nightly expenses in a 360.
Can you get more than 1 night out of a set or tires? How much fuel do you use? How much is an engine rebuild and how long do they last? What type of general maintenance needs one. Etc. Etc. |

Depends where you want to run, ASCS 360s are expensive and can be as much work and cost as a 410, but there are some limited 360 classes that you can run 30-40 nights on a motor and have a $2500 freshening bill after those 30-40 and 1/3 of the maintenance cost in between.
Tires and fuel depend on a track but figure 15-20 gallons of methanol a race night to be safe and new(er) tires every 2-3 unless its an abrasive surface, then sooner. If your on a budget, find a guy that appears to run new tires frequently and ask about buying his run offs, less cost, still good for just starting out. My $.02 anyway. |

If you are that new that you don't know the costs to run either class I recommend finding a team to crew on for a year to learn the ins and outs along with costs then make a good decision on what you can afford. The operational expenses are pretty much the same for either class but the difference comes in engine purchases and rebuild expense.

Get to a track real early, and watch the trailers come in, the guy to ask will more than likely be the one with his car on an open trailer, you might even offer to help him for a couple or three races, and maybe you'll learn something. Bob
