If i raced for a living and i could race the next day with no travel expense, yes i would take the wing off. Besides i don't think those guys are planning on racing for 5th anyway. If you think they wouldn't be competitive, think again.

There are about 8-10 events per year that run this weeknight purse, usually in the spring and fall months at tracks with limited seating that couldn't pay a full purse.

Yeah and when you have to freshen motors every 5-15 races instead of 15-30 it evens out.
Biggest thing is the ability to draw sponsorship for WoO top teams. and even then some have problems.

Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader will make appearances during the UMP modified doubleheader at Terre Haute Action Track Wednesday and Thursday during the Sprint Week featuring World of Outlaws Wednesday and USAC National Sprint Cars Thursday.
