Getting to Putnamville on Saturday?

Hearing stories of how I-70 is jacked up due to construction. Leaving KC, passing through St. Louis and Terre Haute on the way to Putnamville on saturday. I have seen mention of using 40 east after going through Terre Haute instead of I-70. Is that smart or just tough it out on I-70??? My patience lasts maybe ...........15 seconds........in stopped traffic. If I am not running at least 80......I ain't happy.

Get off I-70 at the state road 46 exit the first exit east of Terre Haute go North until you Tee into U.S.40 turn Right (East) take 40 through the City of Brazil about 13 more miles you will pass the Prison on the Right and Lincoln Park is next on the left I work at the 911 Dispatch center in Clay County and I-70 comes to a stand still every evening and weekends you will contend with some traffic lights in Brazil but nothing like I-70

I would also avoid "downtown" Brazil when you get there it is all tore up through 40. I would go down Jackson street which is right after First Christain church and take it to 59 then turn left then back right onto 40 and you miss all the construction.

With the Four Crown going on that night at Eldora, what would one expect the sprint car count to be at LPS this Saturday?

I live in Terre Haute and go to Putnamville regularly. I always take I-70. This summer I've only had to slow down to 50 mph or so when going through the construction zone around the Brazil exit. It hasn't been even close to being enough of a delay to take the extra time that it takes to detour through Brazil. During the middle of the week, during the middle of the day when interstate traffic is heaviest, it may a different story. You could always catch it at a bad time and have a delay, but the backups just haven't been that bad this summer.

I think putnamville could easily get 20 cars. Last weekend with USAC and MSCS at Tri-State, they still had 24.
